DARKSKY 2008 - FINAL ANNOUNCEMENT - extended deadline for submitting talks 8th EUROPEAN SYMPOSIUM FOR THE PROTECTION OF THE NIGHT SKY August 21 - 22, 2008 -- Vienna, Austria The deadline for submitting talks was extended to 11.08.2008. The preliminary program for DARKSKY 2008 is now available on the web site. The scheduled talks and posters cover a wide range of topics about many aspects of light pollution. Additionally two workshops are scheduled, dealing with the definition of light pollution and digital photometry by ordinary cameras. Guided tours through the historic Kuffner Observatory and the "good illumination park" nearby, the Vienna University Observatory and an excursion to Grossmugl including the conference dinner complete the program. During the meeting several internet terminals will be available for email checks etc. as well as a WLAN access point for connecting your personal notebooks. 8th European Symposium for the Protection of the Night Sky, will be held on August 22-23, 2008 at the charming, historic Kuffner Observatory in Vienna, Austria.
